As humans, we often manufacture elaborate constructions to block our view of what we would rather not know. We continuously work to prop up existing structures that may be faulty, instead of creating new frameworks that would allow us to build our lives on a foundation rooted in truth. At times, it feels so scary to look at what may be that we’d rather deny it and live our days in what seems familiar and comfortable. However, remaining unconscious has its side effects, and may end up causing us to miss out on the beauty of what is.
At this retreat, we will explore what drives us to avoid accepting certain realities, and what it would look like to leave denial behind as we journey toward embracing truth.
